What is Batch Document Processing in PF 360 Capture? (Merge, Split & Rotate)

Batch Processing

When multiple individual documents are combined into one PDF and uploaded for processing, it is called Batch Processing.

The Document Preparation page helps users to process batch documents. It opens batch documents in a section view, where options such as page-wise split, merge, rotate, delete, and copying the existing page within a set are enabled for editing. This helps in working with multiple documents that are combined as a batch.

Split

You can select a page and split it from the rest of the set. It is advisable to split the documents from the bottom to prevent overriding data.

  1. Select a page and click the Split icon at the bottom.
  2. The selected page and the following pages are split as a separate document.
  3. So, the user can Index each Document set separately.

Drag and Drop

Users can drag and drop a document from one set to another by long pressing the mouse and holding, it to create a new set of documents.

Merge

You can select multiple documents to merge.

  1. Click Merge and Select all the Document sets that are to be merged.
  2. Check the blue check box in the header section of each set.
  3. Click Confirm Merge.

Copy

Users can copy a page from the set or copy a cover page and drag and drop it to any set to create a new set of documents.

  1. Click the Copy button.
  2. Once clicked, a copy of the document is created in the same set.
  3. Drag and drop the document anywhere in the set.

Collapse

You can collapse document sets for a better view.

  1. Click on   the Minus icon to collapse.
  2. Click on   the Plus icon to expand.

Delete

You can delete an entire document set or individual pages in a document. Click the Document Set button at the top to delete the complete set or the trash icon at the bottom of the page to delete page-wise.

Rotate All

Allows users to rotate entire document sets or individual pages. Use Rotate All button at the top to rotate the entire set or click Rotate icon at the bottom of the page to rotate individual pages.

Confirming the document Split

  1. Once the document set is verified, click on the Index Document button in any of the document sets. The document will be opened on the Indexing page and all the fields will be read-only. The user will only be able to split the document at this stage. 
  2. Click on the Confirm Split button. All the document sets in the batch document will be split into individual documents and are processed. 
  3. Note: In order to perform splitting, the user doesn’t need to click on the Index Document button in every document set in the document preparation page. 
  4. Once the processing is completed, based on the business rules set, documents will be sent to the respective queues. I.e., AP Review / Duplicate (if it’s a duplicate).  
  5. The documents will be named as OriginalDocumentName(page#).pdf.  e.g. BatchInvoice(2).pdf.
