How to Use Lock in PF 360 Capture?

Once the user selects a document from a queue, a lock is applied, allowing the user to own the document for 20 minutes. This ensures that the document will not be processed by any other user simultaneously.

In the above example, the document is locked for a particular user, so others cannot edit the document. The document is locked for 20 minutes, once the lock expires, the “Lock Available” option shows up. The user can claim the lock by clicking the “Get Lock” option.

Types of Lock Settings

  • Lock
  • Steal Lock
  • Lock Available
  • Get Lock

Lock: When a user selects a document from a queue for processing, an auto lock is applied to the Document for 20 minutes, so the Document is locked for other users to modify.

Steal Lock: Use the Steal lock option to open the Document that is being locked by another user. However, stealing the lock erases all the changes done by another user.

Refresh Lock Status: You can click on the Refresh Lock Status button to check the status of the lock. If the existing lock is expired, the Lock Available option then appears.

Lock Available: When the lock is applied, the doc is locked by the user for 20 mins. When a user leaves the doc and reopens, the Lock Available option is highlighted for the user to avail lock again.

Get Lock: Get lock is requested when the user wants to continue indexing the document after 20 minutes.

Display the Lock icon in the Documents lists

Now the system will display the lock if the document has been locked by another person.
